At Shaw Financial Services we offer face to face, phone based or online mortgage advice appointments.
The most popular of these is face to face appointment in our office based in Mansfield, as we like to get to know our clients, and our clients prefer this as they can get to know us.
Apart from it being a better experience all round, it also makes it easier to collect documents, and properly explain all aspects of the home buying and mortgage process, whlst having a hot or cold drink in a relaxed atmosphere.
When you come to see us in our Mansfield office for independent mortgage advice we will do a number of things.
We will go through a fact find which allows us to gather all the necessary information a mortgage lender needs. This includes, address history, dates of birth, your employment status and income, what debts you might have and more to boot. This is referred to as 'hard facts' which means things that are factually correct, in a yes or no manner.
Once we have done that part, we then chat to you so we can get to know and understand you better as a person or couple. This is the part that is really important as it allows us to understand how you live, what matters to you, how you feel about certain things such as what are your plans for this home, is it a stepping stone or your forever dream home, is it until the children are 16 or is it an investment property to maximise rental yield. We do this because it's these nuggets of understanding which help to inform our mortgage recommendation, so we can ensure you get the very best mortgage that perfectly suits your needs and circumstances, not just a one size fits all tick box exercise.
During your appointment at our office in Mansfield we will also collect & copy documents from you such as; a passport or driving licence for ID verification; a utility bill, council tax statement or bank statement for proof of address, along with your payslips P60 or accounts if self-employed and bank statements which mortgages lenders need to show your outgoings.
We use all these documents and information to put together the best financial recommendation for your mortgage needs - and even better, we explain to you why we have recommended a particular mortgage and product, so you fully understand what you are signing up to, which means you'll leave our office knowing there aren't any surprises or small print to be worried about.

A question we are often asked is at what point shoud I book a face to face mortgage appointment and the answer is quite straight forward. Whenever you think the time is right for you.
